“A shout-out to my incredible organizer, Karen York, who did a phenomenal job with my 15 year old organizing her room. She really understood how to work with her and respect her wishes (especially around all of her beloved camp stuff, err….I mean camp mementos), and for the past two days I have left the door open to her room and passed by without wincing once! Karen even organized everything with what we already had in the house so no having to buy more plastic containers! My 15 year old seems to appreciate it, too, as she asked me for a garbage bag and reorganized her bathroom on her own this morning.
This was my third time using Karen over the past couple of years. She also helped us merge 2 households into 1 condo without losing our minds, just losing the stuff we didn’t need. Our kitchen is being painted and when the painter took the doors off our cabinets he could not get over how orderly everything was. Thanks, Karen!”

“Thank you so very much for the excellent presentation you led for our Northwestern community. It was an absolute pleasure working with you, and your delivery style, attention to detail, and wealth of experience in the areas of organizing, organizational psychology, and Human Resources all lent themselves to an excellent presentation that was enthusiastically received by our employees.
Almost all of the evaluations we received included a note about how our faculty & staff would love to see a similar program in the future, and echoed how timely and important the subject matter is, as employees work to balance their personal and professional demands. Thanks again, Karen, for your hard work and for allowing us to bring this excellent workshop to our colleagues, and for the generosity of your time and expertise.”

“There is so much more to what Karen does than to help one sort and clean. After telling her what I wanted to do in my new office space, she designed the entire office layout, and even oversaw the installation when I was out of town. In addition, she arranged to have large items removed from my home by charitable organizations, which was tremendously helpful. Finally, she even purchased a variety of office accessories for me – knowing how reluctant I was to do this for myself – and helped me to create a space where I enjoy spending time.
Karen always arrived promptly – cheerful and upbeat – and ready to go to work. While we chatted about everything under the sun, she kept us focused on the task at hand, and at the end of every session, there was a large pile intended for the garbage, recycling, or donation. Karen would also take numerous containers, replete with items to be donated, and fill up the back of her car.
As difficult as the process is of divesting oneself of the mountains of “stuff” to which so many of us cling, Karen made the process fun and as painless as I think it is possible for it to be. She has a warmth and an energy which are contagious, and I have shared her name with numerous friends and colleagues. I doubt she has any idea just how grateful I am to her.”

“A huge thank you for creating order in our house. Now I know where everything is, and life is easier. You have a precise way of getting things done. I tried to watch and learn from you. In my “old age,” I have now learned how to fold towels perfectly! Most important, Karen, you were a delight to work with. I would recommend you to anyone needing a professional organizer. I still miss you. Many, many thanks!”

“Ten days before the closing on my new, smaller condo – throwing a big wrench into my plans – I dislocated and fractured an ankle. Surgery and weeks of rehab followed after which I finally I made it to my new home. Friends had begun unpacking but there was still a lot more to go. Finding things was difficult especially not being able to stand or walk on my own. And mentally I was in no shape to direct anyone willing to help.
Feeling discouraged and pretty hopeless I had a brainstorm — I should hire an organizer! Karen York fit my situation perfectly.
Karen was a delight to have around. She has boundless energy but took the time to find out what I was thinking and wanted. She has an inherent ability to put things away that was efficient and attractive. I loved it. Even now, when I see a cabinet neat and convenient, it makes me so happy.”

“Karen York is amazing! I learned the hard way recently how difficult, time-consuming, and overwhelming a move can be. Karen came to my rescue and helped me organize my move, pack up my house, and get me settled in our new rental while we are doing an extensive renovation. She even takes all the items gathered up for donation out of your house and to donation facilities each day, so you feel the sense of accomplishment as you see the process of de-cluttering before your very eyes!
Karen is a very hard worker who takes on each project with enthusiasm and incredible energy – the opposite of what I was feeling about such a gigantic, time-consuming task. She was the consummate professional and was not afraid to get in and get her hands dirty, no matter how small or challenging the work might have been. I honestly could not have done it without her!
Once we were in our rental, Karen quickly helped me get my house organized and ready to host a family party not soon after our move. I would not have been able to accomplish this without her incredible hard work, dedication to the job, and organizing savvy. She had great ideas on how to work with the small rental space and has helped us maximize the use of each room. I am looking forward to having Karen help us again when we move back into our renovated house. She has great ideas on organizing — definitely not my strong suit – and with her help, I know we will be able to enjoy our new home even more. I can’t recommend Karen highly enough!
NOBODY should ever move without Karen’s help!”

“I consider myself pretty organized, but I still had a few stubborn spots in my house that I just couldn’t figure out how to make work. Karen came in and took the time to learn how my family functioned. She listened attentively and got to the root of the problem. She did the first round of sorting, decluttering, and organizing…she consulted with me every step of the way, answered my questions, offered products at discount and then came by to make sure that I was happy with the outcome.
And I am very happy with the outcome!”
